Safety equipment is required for tournament competition. However, sparring gear is not needed by the new student until they have learned the basic self-defense techniques. When they are ready to apply their new skills with light sparring, we encourage students to purchase their own equipment.

Tournament requirements include headgear, gloves, and boots. These are soft foam-dipped safety items for maximum protection. Additional required items include groin protection and mouthguards.
