Wado, meaning way of harmony or peace, remains a traditional martial art teaching fundamental values including respect, dedication, and perseverance. Originating in Japan, Wado is one of the major martial art styles in the world today. Highly respected in the martial arts community, Wado-Ryu teaches defensive concepts that are included in other many styles. Wado karate does NOT teach the mystic, or Oriental philosophies. We support and reinforce Christian beliefs.

In addition to self-defense techniques, Wado-Ryu is also taught as a sport for point competition. This enables students to compete for trophies and compare their skills against other martial art styles.
Visit our Events page to see our students at past tournaments.

Today more than ever people find it necessary to learn self-defense. The news reports are full of people being robbed, beaten, or killed. No one needs to be a statistic or a victim. Everyone has a choice.

Through the practice of Wado-Ryu a person can learn self-defense, improve flexibility, balance, coordination, endurance, and general health. It leads to a healthier life-style for all ages 5 to 85.
